Couple finds sassy note from previous homeowner while remodeling bathroom

Tear down the walls and you never know what you'll find.

Alex and Jess Monney were in the middle of remodeling their bathroom when they discovered a note left by the previous homeowner, who upgraded the room in the summer of 1995.

"Hi! We're the Shinsekis! We remodeled this bathroom summer 1995," the note reads. "If you're reading this, that means you're remodeling the bathroom again. What's wrong with the way we did it?"

Damn, the Shinsekis don't mess around.

Along with the note, the Shinsekis included a photo of themselves, along with a photo of their potty-trained pet rabbit named Cassie.

"Hi! I'm Cassie the Bunny Rabbit. I lived here too! (I'm potty trained)," a note next to a photo of the bunny reads.

"I'm going to be the next Cadbury Bunny," another text bubble says.

In the HGTV driven-society we live in today, naturally people wanted to see what the bathroom looked like, especially considering the Shinseki family asked the future owners what was wrong with their mid '90s remodel.

They delivered, and wow we can all agree this bathroom screams 1995, and it was definitely the right choice to remodel.

If you know me, you know I love house projects. However, even I think I might be a little crazy for kicking off a bathroom remodel 4 weeks before I’m due. Bye bye bathroom! 👋🏻 And sorry in advance for the bathroom remodel updates to come.

Of course, internet sleuths went to work, and attempted to find the Shinseki family. A person with the same last name commented on the thread, claiming the man in the photo was his youngest brother.

Alex confirmed to Mashable that he has talked to some members of the Shinseki family, but has yet to make contact with the previous homeowner.

Regardless of the mystery set up by the Shinsekis, people were also blown away with Cassie, the potty-trained rabbit.

This is so good. SO GOOD.

A bunny lived in your house that was house trained?! that is so good.

How the hell do you house train a bunny?

I’ve heard the bunny is living out his golden years in the U.K., where he is currently working on his memoirs. He’s quite cozy in a little smoking jacket, with a tiny glass of brandy and a wee little fireplace to snuggle near. #bunnyretirement

Others shared things they have found behind walls in their own remodels.

My wife and I bought our first home last summer. Had to cut a hole in the bathroom wall to install a vent. Here’s what we found behind behind that wall 😳

My parents had their house custom built in the late 1970s. Dad routinely stopped by and gave the builders a six pack of beer at the end of the day on Fridays. He found this in the wall when renovating the master bathroom shower in 2013:
